Guinness
Stout and its toucan:
This toucan appeared in many Guinness advertisements
and merchandise in the 1970's. I am not going to make fun of Guinness
for choosing a toucan for their mascot like a did Kelloggs because
Guinness makes great beer and Kelloggs makes crappy cereal.
Guinness, unlike Kelloggs knew that a toucan could only sell a
product for so long and eventually the toucan was replaced and
is no longer the mascot of this Irish beer. It is quite amusing
how all sorts of 1970's Guinness merchandise with the toucan are
selling for big bucks all over the web right now. I also must
applaud this particular toucan for preparing to drink a brewski,
rather than that god-awful kids cereal.
Why did I include this tid-bit of information in this site? Because
everyone I talked to about toucans didn't believe that this bird
used be a promotional tool for Guinness. So here it is, in all
its glory: the Guinness Toucan!
